Ron S. Sonenthal

 

 

 

Mr. Sonenthal is a Partner at Deloitte and Touche in Chicago and leads the Midwest Global Employment and Individual Solutions practice.  Ron also leads the Midwest Compensation Consulting practice with Human Capital.  He has over nineteen years of experience in the area of executive compensation, including issues such as design of incentive pay and salary administration programs.  His specialty is in the area of closely held businesses.  In addition, he is an expert in accounting for compensation arrangements and has assisted in the design and implementation of deferred compensation arrangements and shareholder redemption strategies.

 

He is a CPA and a member of the AICPA and ISCPA.  He has authored articles published in Accounting for Law Firms, The Administrator’s Advantage, Crain’s Chicago Business and other publications.  Additionally, he has taught in the DePaul University graduate program and is a frequent speaker on professional service firm compensation and other executive compensation matters.

 

Ron currently serves as a Board member of College Bound, which creates opportunities for economically disadvantaged Chicago-area high school students.  He also serves on the board and executive committee of the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce, the board of Working in the Schools (WITS), the board of INROADS, which is dedicated to developing and placing minorities within the corporate workplace, and is a director-for-life of the Jewish Council for Youth Services.
